VHP to hold

protest day

KOCHI: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will observe a protest day on Wednesday in protest against the militant attack in Ayodhya on Tuesday. Kummanam Rajasekharan, organising secretary of the Parishad, said in a communication that marches and public meetings would be held in the State against the attack. — Staff Reporter

Passports

despatched

KOCHI: The Regional Passport Office, Kochi, has processed and issued passports for applications received till May 20. Passports have been despatched in the week ending July 1, informed the Regional Passport Officer. — Staff Reporter

UPSC results announced

KOCHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Combined Medical Services written examination conducted on January 16. List of candidates who have qualified for interview is available for scrutiny at the Press Information Bureau, Tripthi Lane, Kochi, 682016. Trains to run with electric engines

KOCHI: The following trains in the Ernakulam-Alappuzha-Kayamkulam section will be run by electric locos with effect from Wednesday. The trains are Aleppey-Ernakulam Passenger (Train number 321); Kayamkulam-Ernakulam Passenger (Train number 334); Ernakulam-Kayamkulam Passenger (Train Number 339) and Kayamkulam-Aleppey Passenger (Train Number 324), the Southern Railway has informed. — Staff Reporter
