Teenager raped
According to the police, the girl, a resident of the slum cluster at Bhalswa dairy in Samaipur Badli, was accosted by the accused, Gyanu, and criminally assaulted around midnight. Following a complaint, the Samaipur Badli police arrested Gyanu. Further investigations are on.
Minor girls run over
The incident occurred around 11-30 a.m. when Vasu (6) and Simple (12) were hit by the vehicle being driven by Mohammad Nasir. They were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered and further investigations are on.
Girl ends life
According to the police, Gyanwati, daughter of Mahavir, a resident of East Laxmi Market in East Delhi, asked her mother, Kalawati, around 4 p.m. to buy lemons from the market as she wanted to have lemonade. After Kalawati left the house, Gyanwati locked herself in the bathroom and set herself ablaze.
Fraud charge, man held
NEW DELHI:
A 31-year-old man, who allegedly cheated students on the pretext of getting them admitted to colleges, was arrested at Shahdara in North-East Delhi on Tuesday.
This past Saturday, the police received a complaint from one Praveenthat one Sunil Aggarwal cheated him of Rs. 3,750 for getting his cousin admitted to Shyam Lal College. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested Sunil.
