NEW DELHI: The condition of the former Kerala Chief Minister and CPI leader, P. K. Vasudevan Nair, who was hospitalised after developing lung infection is ``serious,'' party sources said here on Wednesday night. The 79-year-old leader was admitted to AIIMS last week after his lung infection developed into pneumonia. His condition deteriorated on Tuesday night following a block in the urinary tract after which he was put on ventilator for a brief period, they said. He also underwent dialysis for 16 hours on Tuesday. Mr. Nair, leader of the CPI parliamentary group in the Lok Sabha, has been ailing for quite some time now. The CPI leader A. B. Bardhan and CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat visited him at the hospital on Wednesday. - PTI
