Showcasing apparel technology

NEW DELHI: The sixth edition of Zak Garmentech International Expo 2005 - the country's largest apparel technology fair - showcasing innovative technology for the apparel industry will be inaugurated by the Director-General of Korea Trade Centre, Fe Myeong Kee, at Pragati Maidan here on Thursday.

Over 40 participants from abroad, including Korea, China, Taiwan, Turkey, Germany, Italy and Japan will be participating in the four-day exposition aimed at providing an opportunity for those in the apparel industry to discover and leverage the business potential in India, besides facilitating an interaction between the buyers and sellers to build business leads for structured networking.

The Expo will display the latest products and innovative technologies in sewing, finishing, embroidery machinery, contracting and sourcing companies from national and international exhibitors and also organise technology-related seminars and industry workshops. The manufacturers of apparel, non-apparel items from India and Sri Lanka will also be participating.

The Managing Director of the Chennai-based Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, Syed Zakir Ahmed, said: "The ZAK Garmentech International 2005 will display a wide array of products that have previously not been exhibited at our earlier expositions. Products ranging from the sewing, knitting, laundry and support services segments will be exhibited in Hall No. 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12."
