Five killed in two accidents

BANGALORE:
Five persons were killed in two separate accidents at unmanned level crossings near Bangalore on Wednesday.
Four persons, including two engineers of the Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, were killed when the Jaipur-Bangalore Express rammed their car at an unmanned level crossing at Gauribidanur in Kolar district on Wednesday afternoon.
The Railway Police gave the names of the dead as Narasimha Prasad (52), and Mustak Ahmed (42), both Assistant Executive Engineers of the Police Housing Corporation; Anil (28), a site engineer; and Mahesh (25), the car driver.
In the other accident, Ramananda Guru (40), a lorry driver, was killed when his vehicle was hit by a passenger train at the Muganavadi level crossing in Byappanahalli Railway Police Station limits on Wednesday morning.
