Rupee edges down

MUMBAI: The rupee ended a shade lower against the U.S. currency on Wednesday at Rs. 43.58/59 a dollar, weighed down by recent losses on the back of a strong dollar overseas and flaring global oil prices even as trade remained quiet and range-bound at the interbank foreign exchange market. Edging down by yet another paise from Tuesday's close of 43.5750/5800, the rupee was confined to a tight band of 43.56 and 43.59 a dollar in muted business in the absence of clear direction. — PTI
