NEW DELHI: Heavily under debt, a 35-year-old businessman from Gaya in Bihar allegedly killed his wife and three minor daughters by administering them poison in a hotel room at Lahori Gate in North Delhi on Tuesday. While the police have recovered a confession note from the room, the businessman is missing. The incident came to light around 6-30 p.m. when a staff member of Gautam Hotel went to fill water in the cooler installed in the room where the businessman, Rajkumar Khandelwal, had been staying with his wife, Anita, and their three daughters for the past 10 days. When he entered the room, he found the bodies of Anita and the three children lying on the bed. He informed the manager who alerted the police. The police recovered a note written by Rajkumar in which he confessed to having killed his children and wife by making them consume poison. He wrote that he had taken loan from banks to expand his business but had suffered heavy losses due to foul play by some middlemen and was in no position to pay off the debts. In the note, Rajkumar hinted that he was also planning to end his life.
