Intervention to save guard from beating proves costly

Victim Dhananjay and his friends saw two persons beating up a guard for not opening the colony gate
They decide to intervene and a heated argument ensures between the two groups

Dhananjay and his friend, Shiv are stabbed. The former succumbs while the latter is in a serious condition

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old civil services aspirant was stabbed to death and his friend seriously injured in a fight that broke out when the victims tried to save a security guard who was being beaten up by two residents at Model Town in North-West Delhi on Tuesday. The two businessmen have been arrested.

According to the police, a civil services aspirant, Dhananjay Tiwari, had gone to meet his younger brother, Rajkumar Tiwari, at Gujranwala Colony in Model Town last night with his friends -- Shiv Sharma (25), Ajit Singh and Siddhartha Vaswani. When they reached the colony, Dhananjay and his friends saw two men beating the security guard. They decided to intervene following which an argument broke out between Dhananjay and his friends and the men who were beating up the guard. Soon, things took a turn for the worse and one of the two men whipped out a knife and stabbed Dhananjay and Shiv, killing the former.
