Advani to go to Ayodhya today

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party president L.K. Advani will visit Ayodhya on Friday. "Tomorrow he will go to Ayodhya," party spokesperson Sushma Swaraj said here on Thursday. She criticised media reports, which speculated why he had not gone there earlier.

"The day of the attack [at Ayodhya] Mr. Advani was in Guwahati; the next day we organised a `bandh' in various States [and Mr. Advani participated in a demonstration here]; today [Thursday] he visited the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, where some jawans injured in the Ayodhya attack were admitted.

Mr. Advani's secretary said the leader would address a rally at Ayodhya. Senior leaders Rajnath Singh, Kalyan Singh and Kesrinath Tripathi, who are already there, would be present.
