Team named for Asian meet

KOLKATA: The Swimming Federation of India announced on Friday the names of the swimmers and divers who will represent the country in the forthcoming 4th Asian age group championship to be held at Bangkok from August 16.

The waterpolo probales were also identified while the final teams will be announced after the camp.

The coaching camp for swimming will be held at SAI Southern Centre, Bangalore, while the divers will be trained at Dr. Syama Prasad Mookherjee swimming pool, New Delhi.

The waterpolo camp will be held at SAI Centre, Gandhinagar.

The swimming and diving squads: Open group: Puneet Rana (Punjab), Shikha Tandon, Nisha Milet, Rehan Poncha, Aniket D'Souza (all Karnataka), Arjun Muralidharan, Shreesh Reddy (both Police), V. Arun (Tamil Nadu).

Boys:

group I: Rohit R. Havaldar, Arjun J.P., Sandeep N.A., Bharath Kumar (all Karnataka), Sandeep Sejwal (Delhi), J. Agnishwar (Tamil Nadu).

Group II: Aaron D'Souza, Sheraz Jason, Swaroop B.S., Poorna Chandra (all Karnataka), Veerdhaval Khade, Sagar Patil (both Maharashtra), K. Divakar (Tamil Nadu), Mohit Kumar (Delhi).

Girls: group I: Subha C. (Karnataka).

Girls: group II: Madhavi Giri (Karnataka), Fariah Zaman (Assam), Lekha Kamat (Maharashtra).

Synchronised swimming: Avani Dave, Prachi Talajia (both Maharashtra).
