RAJAHMUNDRY: Doctors and political leaders continued their agitation on the third day on Thursday and there was when both groups came closer during their dharnas. The doctors working in the Civil Hospital began their dharna in the morning and boycotted OPD for more than an hour. Patients from different parts of the district were put to trouble as they were waiting in front of OP block. The doctors and the staff took out a rally to Sub-Collector's office to hand over a memorandum stating that they were perturbed by the intervention of some political leaders, and alleged that they were threatened by them. They sought police protection. Meanwhile, Congress workers held a demonstration in front of the hospital and burnt the effigy of the hospital Superintendent, K. Ramesh. They demanded an enquiry into the `rampant corruption' in the hospital.
