New Regional Passport Officer appointed

CHENNAI:
Sumathy Ravichandran, Director of Postal Services (Chennai City Region), has been appointed Regional Passport Officer in Chennai for two years, replacing K. Raghu Ram (additional-charge).
Mrs. Ravichandran is a gold medallist in B.A. English Literature and M.A. and M. Phil in Mass Communications from the Department of Journalism, Madras University.
Mrs. Ravichandran is the first Postal Services Official to take up a post at the Chennai Regional Passport Office, where there is maximum interface with the public.
Married to a doctor attached to the Chennai Corporation, Mrs. Ravichandran passed the All-India Civil Services Examination in 1986, before joining the Indian Postal Service.
She has been in government service for 18 years and served in senior positions in the Postal and Telecom departments.
