"Autograph" bags 3 Filmfare awards

CHENNAI: Tamil movie "Autograph" won three Filmfare awards (south) for 2004, for the best film, best director (Cheran) and best supporting role (Mallika).

In the Tamil awards category "Peralagan" got the best actor award for Surya and the best comedian award for Vivek. Madhavan won the best actor award for his performance in a supporting role in "Ayutha Ezhuthu." Sandya won the best actress award for "Kadal". The best music director award was shared by Bharadwaj for "Autograph" and Yuvan Shanker Raja for "7G Rainbow Colony."

Producer and studio owner Ramoji Rao and actress K.R.Vijaya were selected for lifetime achievement awards.

Kannada

Film - "Apthamitra", director - P.Vasu ("Apthamitra"), actor - Vishnuvardan ("Apthamitra"), actress - Soundarya ("Apthamitra") and music director - Gurukiran ("Apthamitra").

Film - "Varsham", director - Sukumar ("Aarya"), actor - Chiranjeevi ("Shankar Dada MBBS"), actress - Trisha ("Varsham"), actor in a supporting role - Srikanth ("Shankar Dada MBBS"), actress in a supporting role - Keerthi Reddy ("Arjun"), villain - Pradeep Rawat ("Sye"), comedian - Sunil ("Pedababu"), music director - Devishree Prasad ("Varsham").

Malayalam

Film - "Kazhcha", director - Blessy ("Kazhcha"), actor - Mammooty ("Kazhcha"), actress - Geethu Mohandas ("Akale") and music director - M. Jayachandran ("Perumazhakkalam").

Cinematographer S. Gopal Reddy and choreographer Raju Sundaram bagged the technical awards for their work in "Varsham" and "Ghilli" (Tamil ). Chitra won the best playback singer award for "Varsham," while Ravi Krishna was adjudged the best newcomer for his role in "7G Rainbow colony."

The awards will be presented in Hyderabad on July 23.
