DHAWALESWARAM (RAJAHMUNDRY): The floodwater inflows are stable along the Godavari and officials of the Central Water Department have stated that there is no alarming situation till Saturday evening. The water level at Dhawaleswaram Barrage is 10.50 feet (it was 10.05 last year) and 1.07 lakh cusecs of water is going into the sea. (it was 5,219 cusecs in last year). According to CWD officials, the first danger level signal is 11.75 feet and 13.75 feet is the second danger level. The third and final danger level is 17.75 feet. In last three years, the Godavari has not touched the third level and it was in 2001 that it touched 17.59 feet, after lifting all the 175 gates of the barrage. However, the flood levels from Kaleswaram in Karimnagar district to Koida in Khammam district has been increasing since Friday evening. Irrigation officials reduced the release of water by 500 cusecs to each delta area on Saturday in view of the flood situation. Eastern delta was given 3,500 cusecs, Central delta 2,000 and Western delta was given 5,000 cusecs.
