DEHRA DUN: Twenty-five persons were killed and 21 seriously injured when the speeding bus they were travelling in from Paurikhal in Tehri district to Rishikesh rolled down the hillside at Brahmapuri, 12 km short of Muni Ki Reti, around 11-30 a.m. on Saturday. The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Rishikesh and Dehra Dun where the condition of at least three persons was reported to be critical. The bus rolled down the hill when the driver tried to overtake another vehicle at a high speed, it was told. Expressing shock over the accident, the Chief Minister, Narayan Dutt Tiwari, has sanctioned Rs 50,000 each to the next of kin of those killed and Rs 15,000 to those injured from the Disaster Relief Fund.
