Flesh trade racket busted
According to the police, the Saraswati Vihar police received a tip-off about a prostitution racket being run from a house in Shakurpur on Friday. Constable Jaswant Singh was sent as a decoy to the house. After he struck a deal with the woman, the waiting police team raided the house. The woman, identified as Renu, three girls and three men -- Anoop Yadav, Prakash Chand and Gulshan Kumar -- were arrested on the spot. The police said Renu was running the racket under the garb of a polythene- packaging unit. She would allegedly hire young girls for the workshop and later on push them into prostitution. She allegedly used to charge Rs. 500 from a customer for providing the girls. The girls would get Rs. 300, while the rest was Renu's commission. Further investigations in the case are on.
