Vishwanath and Senthilnathan share honours

CHENNAI: Team Yamaha's top two drivers, T.K. Vishwanath and Senthilnathan, shared the honours by winning a race each in the Group C (two-stroke) 111 to 160cc category, the feature event in the fourth round of the UCAL-Rolon National racing championship for two-wheelers at the MMST track here on Sunday.

There was keen competition with Team TVS Racing's Preetam Dev Moses fighting till the end in both races.

Moses held pole, but Vishwanath had the best start and converted it into a grand finish. "It was really close," said Vishwanath, about the first race. This was his sixth win of the season.

The second race saw the lead shift between Vishwanath and Moses through the first five laps, with Senthilnathan a close third. "While going into the sweep, overtaking the two Yamahas in the sixth lap, I fell while passing Vishwanath. It was a fast corner," said Moses, who did not finish the race.

Senthilnathan went on to win, with TVS' Sriskandaraja second and Vishwanath third.
