Lorry seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The lorry that rammed the closed railway gate near Balaramapuram railway station in the Thiruvananthapuram-Neyattinkara section on Saturday night has been seized.

The lorry rammed the interlocked gate at 7.25 p.m., damaging the gate and disrupting train services in the section. The loss to the Railways was estimated at Rs.30,000, the Railways said. This is the second such incident in the railway division in the past week.

The Railway Protection Force seized the lorry and arrested Anil Kumar, driver-cum-owner of the lorry. The Railways said Anil Kumar, who hails from Kovalasery, has been booked under the Indian Railway Act.
