UDHAGAMANDALAM: At a get together of tribals organised at Bokkapuram near Mudumalai on Sunday, a `Federation of Tribal Communities' was formed. A member of the Toda tribal community, A.Sathyaraj, who was elected as president of the Federation, told presspersons on Monday that apart from Todas the federation comprised Kotas, Irulas, Kurumbas, Paniyas and Kattu Nayakans. The meeting took stock of the changes that had taken place over the years in tribal culture, economy and life style and discussed the steps to be taken for tribal development and preservation of tribal values. A 30-member committee was also formed. The Federation would organise a district-level tribal conference on August 18 at Bokkapuram.
