NEW DELHI: Vishal Yadav, nephew of former Rajya Sabha member D.P. Yadav and one of the accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, has moved the Delhi High Court seeking bail. Justice Pradeep Nandrajog on Tuesday took up his bail application but adjourned it for July 21. Neelam Katara, mother of Nitish Katara, also filed an intervention application urging the Court to hear her in the matter as the accused had stated in the bail application that it was her revision petition against a lower court order that was delaying an expeditious trial of the case. When counsel for Ms. Katara mentioned her application in the Court, Mr. Justice Nandrajog said he would hear her contention on the next date of hearing. In the bail application filed through his counsel Dinesh Chandra Mathur, Vishal Yadav submitted that he had been languishing in jail due to delay in the trial. Blaming Neelam Katara for the delay, the petitioner submitted that the trial of the case at the moment stood suspended due to the filing of the revision petition by Ms. Katara. Vikas Yadav, son of D.P. Yadav, and Vishal Yadav are facing trial for allegedly kidnapping and killing Nitish in Ghaziabad in February 2002.
