BANGALORE: Bangalore now has a bio-fuel plant, which can be replicated to produce bio-diesel on a commercial scale.

The plant, jointly designed and developed by the J.S.S. Academy of Technical Education and Malnad Extraction Industries, was commissioned on Tuesday. At the launch function, the adviser to the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Lakshman Prasad, announced that the department would partly fund any such project provided the funding was shared by industries. The plant consists of an oil expeller and a solvent extraction unit.
