Youth Congress leader accuses Telugu Desam of making false allegations

    KARIMNAGAR: The district Youth Congress president, Y. Sunil Rao, has come down heavily on the district Telugu Desam Party leaders for making false and baseless allegations against the State Government for gaining a political mileage during the forthcoming municipal elections.

    Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the TDP leaders had launched a false propaganda against the Congress Government.leaders were making allegations unable to digest the victory of Congress party in the general elections and the developmental works taken up in the district.

    He said that the Congress, during its 14-month regime, had transformed the Karimnagar town on all fronts and upgraded the municipality into a corporation. He said that the Government had sanctioned a regional sports school at a cost of Rs. 5.5 crores and the veterinary and polytechnic college in Karimnagar for the benefit of Telangana people. He also said that the Government had taken up developmental works to the tune of Rs. 40 crores in Karimnagar Municipal Corporation.

    The long-pending Sircilla-Hyderabad by-pass roads was taken up at a cost of Rs. 4-crore, the development of the Godavarikhani-Hyderabad by-pass road at a cost of Rs 2 crore and the Jagtial road at a cost of Rs 2.8 crore.

    Besides, internal main roads of the Karimnagar town were being taken up at a cost of Rs 10 crore and also construction of storm water drains simultaneously.

    In order to solve the drinking water problem of the town, the Government had sanctioned four additional reservoirs and also allocated Rs. 2.3 crores for the lifting of dead storage level of water from the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) for drinking water requirements.
