Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
The State Government has approved the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) proposal for laying a slip road from Greenlands to Necklace Road, which is expected to ease traffic on the Greenlands-Khairatabad stretch.
The proposal for taking up work on the slip road was accepted by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, during a review of activities of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department here on Tuesday.
The MCH Commissioner, Sanjay Jaju, said road-widening works had started on 13 busy roads and 15 junctions on a fast-track basis.
The Raj Bhavan-Somajiguda road was nearing completion while work on the Charminar-Falaknuma stretch was progressing briskly.
Dr. Reddy also directed officials to take up enhancement of urban greenery using treated sewerage water on the Necklace Road on an experimental basis.
