Water supply disrupted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Water supply to many areas, including Pattoor, Pettah, Shanghumughom and Veli, was disrupted for about three hours on Tuesday night, following a leak in a pipeline in front of the MLA Hostel. As the leaking line branches off from the 400 mm main line servicing these areas, the latter was shut down from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to facilitate repair work. Although the main line was recharged at 10.30 p.m., water supply was yet to be restored at midnight. — Staff Reporter

Clash at Navayikkulam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A tense situation prevailed at Navayikkulam in the Kallambalam police station limits on Tuesday night, when activists of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Adivasi group, `Porattam,' clashed with each other. The situation had been brought under control, the police said. — Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The regional seminar on `Content Creation For Teachers in ICT-enabled Training,' scheduled to be held at NSS College for Women, Niramankara, from July 14 to 16 has been postponed. The fresh date will be announced later. — Staff Reporter
