Chief Minister condoles death of Vasudevan Nair

HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has expressed shock and grief at the demise of MP and former Chief Minister of Kerala, P.K. Vasudevan Nair (79) or PKV as he was called, in New Delhi on Tuesday. In a message, Dr. Reddy said Vasudevan Nair had dedicated his life for the improvement of the living conditions of the poor and weaker sections of society. The country had lost an able Parliamentarian known for his ethics, principles and progressive ideology, he said, expressing his condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved family. Meanwhile, the CPI State council expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Nair. The red flag atop the Maqdoom Bhavan, the party's State headquarters, was lowered and members led by the assistant secretary, K. Narayana, paid tributes to the departed leader. The State secretary, Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, who is in the US , and the national council member, Dasari Nagabhushan Rao, also condoled his death.
