CPI against move to split APSRTC

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The State council of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has opposed the move to split the APSRTC into three wings as it was "dangerous."

The CPI State council assistant secretary, K. Narayana, on Tuesday urged the Government to give up its efforts to split the RTC.

Instead, it should conduct a detailed study of the reasons for the losses sustained by the corporation.

He said the Congress, which had been in office for 14 months, should assume responsibility and take steps for its revival.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, he also sought the release of 50 junior doctors and leaders of AISF and SFI who were arrested on Tuesday. Mr. Narayana appealed to the Government to begin negotiations with APJUDA to end the stalemate.
