Rail Europe 4A sets up office in India

NEW DELHI: Rail Europe 4A announced on Tuesday the launch of their India liaison office which would be their first in South Asia.

Speaking on the occasion, the commercial director of the company, Florence Pasquier, said, "India is one of the fastest growing markets and is indeed the fourth largest market among RE4A's 37 countries and the second largest market for Swiss passes just after Japan. Also, we had 20,000 Indians booking their Eurostar ticket through our agents in 2004."

Ms Pasquier said this office will focus on marketing and training and bring us closer to this market helping us understand better the needs and satisfy its demanding clients and educate the agents about the diversity of the products.

The office, she said, would also ensure a fair split of the role of the general sales agents who could now focus more on sales. It was also pointed out that the liaison office will be responsible for strategising and supporting the business conducted by Rail Europe through the network of its general sales agents.
