Welfare aid given

PUDUKOTTAI:
Welfare assistance to the tune of Rs. 2 lakhs were distributed to 130 beneficiaries at the special mass contact programme held at Panampatti village in Illupur taluk in the district on Wednesday.
Distributing the assistance, the Collector, R. Thiagarajan, said the State Government had accorded priority for laying roads in the rural areas and works in this regard were being executed in the district.
Emphasis was also being laid on creation of infrastructure facilities in schools. A total of 73 petitions were received before the commencement and 23 during the course of the camp.
