CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, and Lakshadweep, at many places over Kerala and at a few places over Telangana and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka. The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimeters. Valparai and Hanumasagara (Koppal dt.) 10 each, Srimushnam (Cuddalore dt.) and Gadag 9 each, Perambalur, Babaleshwar (Bijapur dt.) and Santhebennur (Davanegere dt.) 7 each. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: Tiruttani, Lalgudi (Tiruchilrapalli dt.) and Kolar 6 each, Arakonam (Tiruvallur dt.), Virudhachalam (Cuddalore dt.) and Shirali 5 each, Thuraiyur (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Tirukattupalli (Thanjavur dt.), Tirupuvanam (Sivagangai dt.), Metpalli (Karimnagar dt.), Karwar, Honavar, Kundapura (Udupi dt.), Yelburga (Raichur dt.), Srinivasapua (Kolar dt.), Sringeri and Jayapura (both Chickmangalur dt.) 4 each, Thozhudhur (Cuddalore dt.), Thammapatti (Salem dt.), Narsapur, Hakimpet Airport, Thodupuzha (Idduki dt.), Punalur, Mangalore, Sulya, Mulki and Subramanya (All Dakshna Kannada dt.) and Badami (Bagalkote dt.) 3 each. FORECAST (Valid until Saturday Morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Rayalaseema. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
