Schiavone in quarterfinals

MODENA (Italy): Top-seeded Francesca Schiavone humbled Marta Marrero of Spain 6-0, 6-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the Modena International tennis on Wednesday.

Fifth-seeded Anna Smashnova of Israel easily beat Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain 6-4, 6-0 for the second time this year, and will play Emilie Loit of France in Friday's quarterfinals.
