SITRA laboratories inaugurated
COIMBATORE:
The Secretary, Union Ministry of Textiles, R. Poornalingam, recently inaugurated here the upgraded laboratories at the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA). A chemical testing and a chemical processing laboratory have been upgraded with the latest machinery. The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories accredited the chemical testing laboratory for complying with ISO/IEC 17025 guideline for laboratory accreditation, says a release. The chemical processing laboratory now undertakes Oeko Tex 100/1000 consultancy. Its service includes pre-testing, to qualify samples for certification and technical consultancy to improve process in case the sample fails in pre-testing.
