HDFC Bank has posted a 31.1 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs. 183.53 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 against Rs. 139.9 crore in the first quarter of last year. Total income rose to Rs. 1,158 crore from Rs. 811 crore. Total deposits stood at Rs. 38,354 crore, a rise of 22.1 per cent over Rs. 31,406 crore as of June 30, 2004. UTI Bank UTI Bank has reported a net profit of Rs. 92.63 crore in the first three months ended June 30, 2005 against Rs. 70.67 crore in the year-ago period. The net interest income was Rs. 222.48 crore (Rs.167.14 crore). Total deposits registered a rise of 51 per cent to Rs. 31,020 crore from Rs. 20,518 crore. iGATE Global iGATE Global Solutions has increased its revenue by 4.2 per cent to Rs. 147.49 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 from Rs. 141.56 crore while the net profit rose sharply to Rs. 1.42 crore from Rs. 11 lakh in the year ago period. According to Phaneesh Murthy, CEO of the company, the highlight of the quarter was the signing of a multi-year preferred supplier agreement with one of North America's premier financial services groups. CMC CMC has reported a net profit of Rs. 15.33 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 against Rs. 17.82 crore in the same period last year. Total revenue has increased from Rs. 184.78 crore to Rs. 204.50 crore. On a consolidated basis, the group has posted a profit after tax of Rs. 15.97 crore (Rs 18.74 crore) and a total revenue of Rs. 215.18 crore (Rs. 190.97 crore) in the period under reference. PTC India The profit after tax of PTC India has increased by 63 per cent to Rs. 11.31 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2005 from Rs. 6.96 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Total income has declined to Rs. 443.97 crore from Rs. 495.78 crore. Aztec Software Aztec Software and Technology Services has reported an operating profit of Rs. 7.59 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2005 against Rs. 1.62 crore in the corresponding period in 2004. Revenue has risen to Rs. 42.28 crore from Rs. 16.13 crore. Shanthi Gears Shanthi Gears has reported a net profit of Rs. 5.59 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2005, against Rs. 3.96 crore in the year-ago period. Net turnover has risen to Rs. 33.69 crore from Rs. 25.55 crore.
