CHENNAI: V. Suresh Kumar's five-wicket haul for Namakkal and Petson Mathew's undefeated 90 for Thiruvallur were the highlights of the TNCA under-22 inter-district cricket matches played at various venues in the Thiruvallur district on Thursday.

At Thiruvallur: Thanjavur 314 for eight in 50 overs (J. Pavendhan 43, V. Murugase 46, P. Sakthi 44, R. Anand 84) bt Pondicherry 312 in 49.4 overs (Veraballan 59, Domnin 63).

Karur 146 in 37.4 overs (R. Karthick 52, S. Thyagarajan four for 35) lost to Thiruvallur 147 in 16.3 overs (Petson Mathew 90 not out).

Coimbatore 205 in 47.5 overs (Vinoth 40, A.V. Streejan 41) bt Madurai 85 in 19 overs (Venkatesh four for 18, K.S. Hari Prasath four for 49).

Kanyakumari 154 in 40.1 overs (Asha Xavier 46, V. Suresh Kumar five for 28) lost to Namakkal 156 for five in 30 overs (J. Kirubakaran Raja 55 not out, S. Karthikeyan 48 not out).

At Sivakasi: Erode 237 in 42.1 overs (Chandrasekar 92) bt Nilgiris 143 in 32 overs.

Nagapattinam 149 in 32.2 overs lost to Villupuram 153 for three in 27 overs (Ghosh 44, Karthikeyan 52).

Cuddalore 163 in 30 overs bt Virudhunagar 90 for five in 23.3 overs (M.S.P. Rajkumar four for 33, M. Kannabeeran four for 47). On spin of coin after rain forced abandonment of match.

At Karaikudi: Ramanathapuram 228 for five in 50 overs (Baskara Sethupathy 56, Sathyaraj 67) bt Sivagangai 60 for four in 15 overs. On spin of coin after rain forced abandonment of match
