Deadline extended for filing tax statements
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI:
The Centre on Thursday extended the deadline for filing the first quarterly statements of taxes deducted and collected at source (TDS/TCS) this fiscal to August 31.
"With a view to avoiding genuine hardship being faced by taxpayers in filing quarterly statements of tax deducted at source and tax collected at source for the quarter ended June 20, it has been decided by the Central Board of Direct Taxes to extend the due date for filing these statements to August 31," an official statement said.
The extension of deadline is for filing statements in both electronic and paper format and is applicable to all taxpayers.
