CHENNAI: Police have recovered 70 stolen laptops following the arrest of three persons who have been charged with pilfering the equipment from an airline cargo. The Greater Chennai Police Commissioner, R.Nataraj, restored the laptops to Hewlett Packard company authorities on Thursday. S. The stolen laptops were then sold to Anandhan of Ekkaduthangal at Rs. 16,000 each, Mr. Murugan said. The company filed a complaint and a special police team traced the offenders to Bangalore. It recovered 70 of the stolen laptops, valued at Rs. 35 lakhs, as also Rs. 2.50 lakhs in cash. The truck used for transporting the stolen property was also seized, he said. G.U.G.
