CUDDAPAH: A Transco worker was allegedly done to death by his wife in Mrutyunjayakunta in Cuddapah town on Wednesday night. A Transco helper, Ramaraju (37), an alcohol addict, allegedly whistled and passed nasty remarks at some women discussing about the issue of ration cards near his house, when his wife, Suryakala (33), took him into the house. An enraged Ramaraju beat his wife and tried to strangle her, when she allegedly hit him on the head with a pestle, leading to his instantaneous death, according to the police. The Cuddapah DSP, M. Ramprasada Rao, and Chinna Chowk SI, K.N. Murthy, inspected the scene of offence.
