RAJAHMUNDRY: The district administration and Municipal Corporation will distribute ration cards to families below poverty in Rajahmundry from Friday. Addressing a press conference at the Press Club here on Thursday, the MLA, Routu Suryaprakash Rao, has said that all arrangements have been made to issue cards on the spot in a phased manner in the city.
Officials to visit wards
In the first phase, four centres were identified in the city limits covering four wards per each centre. A team of officials will visit the wards and intimate about the time, date and centre where the beneficiaries will be photographed. Each centre will issue 150 to 200 cards per day and the authorities are expecting to complete the entire process in two to three months, he said. Mr. Suryaprakash Rao also said that the cards would be distributed at Roy Academy, Nannaiah Municipal High School, DM High School and also in Kadiam.
