New traffic rules in Sowcarpet

CHENNAI: The City Traffic police have announced a few changes in traffic regulation in the General Muthiah Street, Sowcarpet, from Thursday.

An official release said that the stretch of General Muthiah Street between the NSC Bose Road junction and the Elephant Gate Street junction is declared one-way with an entry from Elephant Gate Street.

Vehicles going towards General Muthiah Street from NSC Bose Road will now have to take NSC Bose Road, Walltax Road and Elephant Gate Street to reach General Muthiah Street.

Similarly, the stretch of General Muthiah Street from the Elephant Gate Street junction to the Audiappan Street junction is declared as one-way with an entry from the Elephant Gate Street.

Following the change, vehicles moving towards General Muthiah Street from Audiappa Street will now have to use Audiappan Street, Walltax Road and Elephant Gate Street to enter General Muthiah Street, the release added.
