The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed the final report against the Chairman of the Ambattur Municipality, Rukmangathan, on charges of cheating and forgery.
According to the charge sheet, K. Rukmangathan impersonated himself as R.Rukmangathan as if he were the legal heir of M. Ramasamy, who retired from the Railways after putting in 34 years of service from 1945, and obtained a job.
Mr. Rukmangathan joined the Carriage and Wagon Works, Perambur, in February 1979 and held the posts of khalasi, welder grade-I and welder grade-II and took voluntary retirement in July 2001. He got pension and relief.
Mr. Rukmangathan had fraudulently and dishonestly signed in the Railway records as R. Rukmangathan. The charge sheet said that he cheated the Railways to the tune of Rs.8.7 lakhs.
