VIJAYAWADA: A house at NTR Colony under Machavaram police station limits was burgled on Wednesday night. Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 80,000 were reported to have been stolen. B. Venkata Subba Rao, assistant manager in a private firm, along with him family members, went to Machilipatnam on Wednesday evening. He received a call from his neighbours on Thursday morning stating that the doors of his house were found broken. He rushed to his house and found the ornaments missing.
Suspicious death
An agriculture labourer died under suspicious circumstances at Kotikalapudi village on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday night. The Ibrahimpatnam police said that R. John Prakasa Rao (30) left his house on Wednesday morning. Some villagers found him in an unconscious condition in the fields and suspected that he might have consumed pesticide. He was admitted to Government General Hospital in Vijayawada in the evening, where he died.
Found dead
The Governorpet police found the body of a 30-year-old male near Sulabh toilets. Police suspect that the person might have died due to heart attack.
