GUNTUR: A two-year-old boy was washed away in an open drain in Brodipet on Thursday. Heavy rain lashed the city for two hours from 10 a.m. leading to heavy flow in the drain where the boy was playing. Ganesh, a resident of 6th lane 19th cross in the colony, who was playing near the drain accidentally slipped into it. Later, he was taken to a hospital, but was declared dead on reaching there.
Struck dead by lightning
A businessman, Gaddipati Babu Rao (41) died when lightning struck him at Veerapuram village in Piduguralla mandal on Wednesday night. He was returning from his shop when lightning struck him.
