Youth found dead

TIRUCHI: : A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Kolapatti along the Pudukottai road on Thursday.

The police said Pon Paramaguru (28) of Ayyampatti, son of Pitchai, an AIADMK functionary and rice dealer, went missing since Wednesday night. It could be a case of murder owing to business rivalry, the police suspected.

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply in the certain areas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday owing to maintenance work at Ambikapuram sub-station, according to a release issued by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.Ariyamangalam, SIT, Ponmalai Defence Colony, Ambikapuram, Rail Nagar, Nehruji Nagar, Rajappa Nagar, Kamaraj Nagar, Malayappa Nagar, Kattur, Pappakurichi, Kailash Nagar, Sakthi Nagar, Melakalkandar Kottai, Keezhkalkandar Kottai, Alathur, Senthaneerpuram, Sangiliyandapuram, Keezhaputhur, Southern Railway, Khajapettai, Tirunagar, Adaickala Annai Nagar, Ponmalaipatti, Keezhakurichi, Nathamadipatti, Ponneripuram and Subramaniapuram.

Mettur level

The level in the Mettur dam stood at 64.49 feet on Thursday. The inflow was 16,423 cusecs and the discharge 900 cusecs. — Staff Reporter
