Nephew held on murder charge

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old youngster has been arrested by the South-West Delhi police for allegedly killing his uncle whose body was found in a pump house at Sarojini Nagar in South-West Delhi on Wednesday.

The body of 40-year-old Girish Chand, a pump house operator, was spotted by a resident in the CPWD Enquiry Compound, Sarojini Nagar, around 7-30 a.m. There were blunt injury marks all over the body.

Investigations revealed that Girish's nephew, Ram Sunder Yadav, had offered alcohol to him the previous night. When the police questioned him, Ram Sunder denied it but allegedly broke down when the police recovered Girish's bloodstained clothes and slippers from Ram Sunder's house. At his instance, the stick, allegedly used in the crime, was also recovered.

During interrogation, Ram Sunder allegedly told the police that Girish would often scold and abuse him. Girish would ask him to become disciplined and look for a job. Ram Sunderfelt humiliated and decided to kill his uncle. On the fateful night, after Girish got intoxicated, Ram Sunder took him to the pump house where he bludgeoned Girish to death.
