It was inaugurated on Thursday on the IIM-K campus at Kunnamangalam by computer science expert V. Rajaraman. The programme is being attended by 34 information science and information technology professionals from reputed educational institutions in the country. There are two participants from Singapore. Speaking on new information utility, Prof. Rajaraman highlighted the urgent need to set up the new breed of digital information systems using world standard leading edge software solutions. Special training and hands-on practice on open source digital library software `Greenstone' is a highlight of the programme, M.G. Sreekumar and Radhakrishnan Pillai, programme coordinators, said.
