11 killed in Garhwal accidents

DEHRA DUN: Eleven persons were killed and several injured when three vehicles they were travelling in rolled down the hillside at different places in the Garhwal region on Friday.

A utility jeep fell into a deep khud on the Mussoorie-Pairogi road killing five persons and injuring four seriously. Similarly a jeep coming from Kuthnor to Barkot fell into the Yamuna killing three persons and injuring 12. In another accident, a jeep fell into a deep khud at Bagadwal Dhar on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund road killing three persons.

All the vehicles were overloaded and moving at a fast speed despite rain, police said.
