CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh police on Saturday evening claimed a major success in unravelling Babbar Khalsa's reported gameplan of reviving terrorism by busting a new independent module. They arrested two alleged "human bombs" and recovered arms and ammunition, including RDX. Addressing a press conference here, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, B.D. Bector, and Inspector Satbir Singh said that acting on secret information, a police party of the Operations Cell arrested Paramjit Singh alias Baiju and Kamaljit Singh from near Kisan Bhawan in Sector 35 and recovered one 0.25 bore foreign-made pistol with ammunition, two detonators and a bag containing two complete human bomb belts with 450 grams of RDX, switches, wires and battery.
Independent cells
Mr. Bector, who heads the Operations Cell of the UT Police, said that investigations so far had established that Jagtar Singh Hawara had reportedly set up several independent modules of the Babbar Khalsa on the instructions of Wadhawa Singh, its Pakistan-based chief.
