Cyclist killed in accident

Thiruvananthapuram: A 55-year-old man was killed when the cycle he was riding collided with a motorbike at Pallichal, near Balaramapuram, on Saturday night. Hospital sources identified him as Sivarajan, a resident of Kidarakuzhi, Uchakada. The accident took place around 10 p.m. The body had been shifted to the mortuary of Medical College Hospital. — Staff Reporter

Students' Day celebrated

Thiruvananthapuram: Students' Day was celebrated at Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School on Friday. Principal Mathew Thengumpally handed over the `golden key' to student principal Abheeshta Nath, symbolising the handing over of the day's administration to students. The student principal later addressed the assembly.

Education loans disbursed

Thiruvananthapuram: Canara Bank chairman and managing director M. B.N. Rao disbursed education loans to 500 students at Co-Bank Towers here on Friday. Nearly 600 students from professional colleges participated in the programme organised to counsel and disburse loans to students.

Sanskrit classes

Thiruvananthapuram: Free Sanskrit and Astrology classes being organised by Vishwa Samskritha Pratishtan will start on July 17. Thiruvananthapuram: A dmissions for the next batch of yoga and meditation classes being organised by Kerala University's Department of Physical Education have started.
