Veteran CPI(M) leader dead

KOLKATA: Veteran CPI (M) leader and former member of Parliament, Biplab Dasgupta, died at his south Kolkata residence on Sunday afternoon.

He was 65 and is survived by his wife Arati Dasgupta, a CITU leader, and a son.

An economist, Mr. Dasgupta was a former member of the Rajya Sabha. He was also a former member of CPI (M)'s Central Committee. — PTI
