HYDERABAD:
The Cabinet on Monday decided to refer the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Revision Commission to a three-member high power committee with instructions to submit its report to the Government within two months.
The committee will consist of A. Raghottama Rao, Special Chief Secretary (Coordination), General Administration; P. Ramakantha Reddy, Principal Secretary, Finance; and A. K. Goel, Principal Secretary, Services.
Briefing reporters on the decisions taken by the Cabinet, the Information Minister, Mohd Shabbir Ali, that the committee would process the recommendations and come out with an integrated view after holding consultations with employees' organisations. The Minister said that the Congress Governments were always sympathetic to employees and to pensioners. Justice would be done to all of them, he said. The meeting ratified the action taken by municipalities in sanctioning 52,719 urban houses this year to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 210 crores and cleared the proposal by the Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation to take Rs. 161.08 crores of loan from LIC to implement this programme.
