Boats, nets distributed

CHENNAI: The Salesian Sisters of Chennai Province on Monday distributed 45 boats, engines and two sets of nets to fishermen from Pattinathar-TVT Kuppam, Indira Gandhi Kuppam and Periya Ernavur Kuppam in Tiruvottriyur.

C.V. Sankar, Officer on Special Duty, Relief and Rehabilitation, commended the work done by the Salesian Sisters. The project co-ordinator of Salesian Sisters of Chennai Province, Sister Maria Selvam, said the Don Bosco Mission, Germany, had extended a helping hand to the people of Tiruvottriyur.

Sister Fernando Mary Ann, Provincial of the Salesian Sisters, Chennai Province, and Sister P. Mary Saroja, Directress of Our Lady Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chetpet, also participated.
